Sometimes on a shoot, everything just goes right…..we met with Andy and Sophia on the beach in Hythe, Kent a few weeks ago, prior to their wedding at The Marquis, Alkham. The summer early evening light was just right, and Sophia and Andy were incredibly relaxed enjoying getting used to the camera ready for the big day.  Wedding day plans were discussed over a cold drink on the seafront – perfect! ♡

What a vibrant affair this was! Claire and Alban’s wedding at The Grand in Folkestone, was an amazing fusion of two cultures, and was anything but ordinary.  Alban is from Nigeria and there were many relatives and friends in attendance dressed in stunning attire.  A large wedding, but with every last detail organised perfectly by Claire.  In the evening, after the first dance, Claire and Alban changed in traditional Nigerian dress, and with the applause of their family and friends, took to the dance floor  - what a dance it was! Congratulations to you both; wonderful to be part of such a fabulous day.♡

A family shoot at one of my favourite places – Dungeoness, in Kent. Much photographed, but somehow always seems new and exciting, with the ‘big sky’ feel and ethereal light. The day we were there, the late afternoon sun was extremely fierce, making for some dramatic images….

This was such a vibrant wedding, in the heart of the Kent countryside. Congratulations to Meg and Simon for creating such an amazing day, with so many unique touches to really make it special. My beloved pink, heart shaped umbrella fitted in perfectly! ♡ 

A rare few days away with my family in France…. and a chance to take a few relaxed shots of my beautiful and fast growing up step daughter…..♡

What a fun shoot this was, in Green Park, London. We were photographing for a forthcoming film – Porcelain Dolls – (filmed by the wonderful Francesco Telegothika) – about Lolita culture and lifestyle. Lolita is a Japanese street fashion inspired primarily by the clothing and general aesthetics of the Rococo and Victorian periods. This fashion movement started in Japan in the 1980′s and has evolved greatly since. Nowadays Lolita Fashion has grown to be relatively popular all over the world.  We were photographing a Lolita meet from Oxfordshire, and it certainly attracted a lot of attention in the park and on the street! And……at the end of the shoot, I was interviewed on film about my views on photographing Lolitas (scary!)……..watch this space!

Gorgeous pre wed shoot with Alban and Claire on The Leas in Folkestone – the rain held off, and the clouds added some drama…..oh and there was my pink heart shaped umbrella that I bought in Bruges, which I have been dying to try out……Turned out that Alban and Claire were the perfect couple to road test this on – I loved their willingness to try anything! I was especially pleased to hear that on their wedding day, at The Grand in Folkestone, they want to do the ‘jump in the air’ shot that you see here……only of course it will be in all their finery – can’t wait – think it is gonna be a lot of fun….

Trudi and Jason married at The Grand, in Folkestone. It was such a beautiful and vibrant day, thanks to the attention to detail and the colour scheme – purple! And the sun shone…..It was wonderful to photograph a bride wearing a purple dress AND purple shoes, and I am looking forward to the Rock the Dress/Trash the Dress session…. (please Trudi!). The Grand is a wonderful wedding venue, situated right on The Leas in Folkestone, such a  lovely backdrop. The Grand itself provides many photo opportunities, and we had great fun photographing Trudi and Jason for their couple shots.

Gill and Chris are getting married next month at the beautiful Denton Church, near Canterbury. A wedding reception at the very stylish Marquis at Alkham will follow. Because it is such a pretty location, we decided to do the pre wed shoot around the church, and what a perfect choice it was, with rolling countryside all around. It was a perfect evening, and Molly the dog seem to enjoy herself too!  Pre wed shoots are a wonderful way to get used to being in front of the camera, dispelling any nerves before the big day.  Having two photographers means amazing coverage – Kevin is usually getting the shots from a distance with a long lens, leaving me to set up the shots and get more of the close ups. By the time the wedding arrives, we all know each other, which makes for more relaxed photography on the day.

I photographed Nick and Caroline’s beautiful wedding in Las Vegas in 2008, and since then it has been so amazing to document their lives as their family grows.  I have photographed Joe on several occasions since his birth in 2009, and now he has a new brother George.   Six week old George was on fine form, very alert and managed to hold his head up! Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot at our studio in Hythe.
